Here is a real challenge...taking a picture of something that thousands of people have done before and trying to make it interesting. This shot is an HDR combination of seven shots converted to black and white using the channel mixer. The focus was done with Live View zoomed in 10 times.

Hi Roger,

I must say: challenge succeded! Beautiful B&W tone and great details! Amazing lighting and great DOF. Very well done!

TFS Greetings Simone

Howdy neighbor! This is nice! I recognize it right away! Nice HDR processing. I think you did well with using BW here. I think color would have muddied it up some! Good job!

Hello Roger,

Very interesting shot. The idea is well presented. The black and white presents the starkness very well. The lines are great. Good one.

Siddhartha

Hi Roger,
A very creative look on this wonderful city. The effect of the wires across the view has given the photo a interesting touch. Probably enhanced by the HDR treatment. One small nit; the central placement of the collum. I would have liked to see it off centered.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Roger! Very interresting, I love rthe way you composed it, the B&W looks fantastic and the sharpness is great. IMO the HDR made some weird things (It could be me, though), the exposure is better on the right side of the structure compared to the left side where the white parts are a bit too white. Also it seems that between all the 'steel cables' of the bridge the sky has different exposures. Anyway, the image is very well composed and like you said different than what we're used to see of that bridge, well done!

Mario

Very very cool.

Hi Roger
Agree with you that this is a different look
The mono color tone in addition to directly lines and diagonal slope of the hill added to its compo
Best wishes, Alireza

Hi Roger,
You have certainly succeeded in giving us a new & interesting image, not only of the famous bridge, but of the
vibrant cityscape of San Francisco. IMHO a very stunning picture,I'm still trying to figure out where you were standing:-) I'm taken with the clarity of details you have captured within this image. I think your placement of the single bridge column, centered as it is,gives the appearance of strength & solidness to the column.Great Shot IMHO.This must look sensational blown up.
TFS
Best Regards
Ron

Roger, many CONGRATS on a project that had to be very, very, time consuming. Your efforts paid off very well to say the least. Yes, this is definitely a different view on the GG Bridge that no one has even come close to attempting before. Very well done!!

Sincerely, JoeGoff, Louisville, KY
