....is the final resting place for fallen Communist statues , including those of Lenin , Karl Marx and Engels plus numerous memorial plaques that were also removed after the downfall of the Communist regime in Hungary .Indeed after decades of Communist dictatorship Hungarians were quick to rip down the hated statues and memorials , fortunately in the days of Liberation in the early 90's some Hungarians had an eye towards history and saved the statues . Hungary created an outdoor park in late 1993 to display them.
Here in this photo taken in the park is one large statue of Lenin . The weather was lousy on the day of visit yet we found the site very interesting for the same reasons the park was erected for , it is located in the outskirts of Budapest and is easy enough to reach by public transport.
Scanned the original print , converted to B&W, slight adjustments , applied a gradient in the sky and a light vignette , sharpened .
Thanks for looking,
Carol

Hoi Carol,
A great POV you had. It is funny to see the small figure in the background, making Lenin even bigger.
Good exposure and note ! Good job done in PP.

Joop!

Hi Carol,
A journalistic composition with good framing and nice details of this statute, the framing and tight cropping plus the shallow depth in BG with and the second statute shows a good depth in the frame, well captured and a piece of history story telling presentation.

Hello, Carol -
Love thie POV here, playing with the perspective so that the imposing dark Lenin seeming to tower over the blurred statue to his right. The b&w compliments the stark atmosphere and provides a Soviet-era feel. Sharp details of Lenin's coat. Very interesting image.

Hi Carol,

A picture with a lot of symbolism. Especially when you are fantasizing what the expression of the statue behind cloud mean.
Well chosen use of DOF.

HI Carol,
there's a little fun in this shot - to see that mighty statue - an this small in the back, just looking like it is standing next to the big one in that almost funny pose.
Realy great work, I like the effect, thanks
