|As Linhas de Torres |
A particular defensive system, built in the Western Region of Portugal, in order to protect Lisbon from a third invasion. It was designed by Wellington, after the second invasion starring Soult, taking advantage of natural barriers in the region. This book contains a total of 152 fortifications, built in 1809 until November 1812. These strongholds were instrumental in the third invasion, when Extremadura played a key role in the Peninsular War.
