|Blue Heron take off|
Shot this blue heron in take off next to the 36L runway (Polderbaan) of Schiphol airport. Aircraft often suffer bird hits during take off and landing mostly without any (severe) damage, but when this fellow enters the engine, well there might be some substantial damage though.
Well this pal escaped without a scratch....
PP work, only adjustment of levels and curves, cropped, resized and sharpened using USM.

Well, I can't resist commenting on a Heron photo. They're one of my favorite subjects to photograph. Good timing, and a good choice of shutter speed to freeze the motion. You may want to consider adding a little contrast and saturation to help this "pop" a bit, but great catch.
very nice colors details and composition
Very nice Hans! Very sharp! Did he make a lot of noise at you for taking this picture? The Heron's here make all sorts of squawking and screams when you get near them! Love the details in the grass! You have lots of details in his feathers too, even with the movement! good job!
ha die Hans,
Strakke foto zeg. Het detail is echt super. De diafragma heeft de Reiger mooi weten los te maken van de achtegrond de focus op de vogel is echt perfect. De echtheid van de kleuren en de helderheid zijn echt top.
This is a wonderful picture Hans. The feathers are so beautifully defined. I see he managed to be cleared for take-off too!
A different sort of big bird from your later posting of the Emirates 777.
