Quarter Fan

Just a close up of the quarter of a General Electric CF34-10E fan, the "engine' of the engine. This engine is fitted on an Embraer E190 aircraft.

The fan construction is able to produce between 18,285 - 20,000 lbf at sea level, quite a stormy experience when standing behind it :-)

Took this shot from inside the engine intake without any artificial light or flash, that explains the rather odd camera setting of 1/30 sec with f/3.8

PP work: only adjustment of levels and curves, resized and sharpened using USM.

Hello Hans ;)))...nice to see you...
Impressive orignl crop...Compliments,
Best wihes,
J ;)

This is unusual and effective, Hans. I do like the close crop and guess this is what arty people call "abstract"? The crop and composition work for me and the tones seem to suit the subject matter. Nice one.

Hello Hans

When I saw the picture from far, I thought it was the stairs seen from above.
Well, then I saw better and I read your note, and I understood !!! lol
Clever idea, amazing result.
I really enjoy this pov.
I like so much all these lines and geometric shapes, all is abstract and the visual impact and aesthetic is very strong.

This is very different from your usual Hans! VERY nice abstract view here, nice smooth edges and nice contrasts! You are quite the artist!

Love this Hans ... my kind of shot. A perfect abstract shot, with great silvery and icy blue colors. I love the sharpness of details and the smoothness of the blades. I can imagine this framed and hung on a wall. Great shot.
Have a great week

Spectacular abstract shot with sharpness so good I can see the "36" marking on the prop mount! Lovely tones and patterns captured with artistic vision- great shot!

stairs ? flowers ? no ! thanks Hans, great graphism,

well done for framing,

i like it very much

The tight composition makes this a wonderful abstract.
Great posting, Hans!

Hoi Hans,
Leuke inzending !

waar het hart van vol is ...
fijne opname

Superb abstract !
Love the compo and the tones.

A superb shot where one can stop fantasizing, Hans!

I like the POV here, the 1/4 of the fan, captured with such a mastered clarity and focus. The sharpness and DOF are very well managed. Great thin bordered frame also enhances the beauty of the overall picture. Well done!

Good Morning Hans,

I find this aesthetically pleasing.
Maybe, it reminds me of the beauty of an ammonite.
It is really well composed, fitting, as it does, so well into the narrow white border, with opposite corners mirroring one another.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Good morning Hans,
Not so abstract... (*_*), I see a turbine, but very beautiful, neat, clear, perfectly sharp and tightly croped and simply framed. Marvelous lightness.
A chef d'oeuvre.

Hi Hans,
Interesting close up in this engine, perfect combination of lines and light, creating a nice 3D effect.
Excellent colors and fine metallic texture. Perfect editing work.
Congratulations rich gallery that will follow more closely.
Greetings photographic

Hello Hans,

Great piece of artwork here in your photograph. The metalic colours, shadows and highlights this has a good depth to it.

Nice work,
