[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While walking through the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, I spotted a glass case containing the carefully preserved skeleton of a massive boa constrictor. This image does not convey the incredible size, but I decided that the repeating pattern of ribs and the graceful curves might make a nice abstract.

The light was dim and I had to shoot hand-held through the glass, but I got one that I thought was acceptable. I did a lot of work to this in PP, including, among other things: sharpen, crop, edge sharpen, reduce highlights, increase contrast, convert to b&w, introduce red tint with the monochrome color mixer.

J'aime beaucoup le rendu de la photo et aussi le rouge! Quelle belle couleur!

Great work on your shooting and PP work to create this nice iamge. From your good notes I can appreciate the work that went into this and admire your handywork.

This is some REALLY nice abstract work Sandy! Beautiful sharpness! I love how you did this! Interesting pattern, reminds me of a dinosaur!....well, it's a snake....reptile!

Well, the effect which you earned is intriguing. As you wrote the repetition of the ribs accompanied by the skeleton's curvature is considerable and has an almost hypnotic effect. The use of red, lit color, with the light effect at the top of this photo break skillfully a possible monochrome that could be heavy.

Hi Sandy...nice creative shot...very artisitc. I like the monochromatic use of the Red color...nice work.

a very successful endeavor. bravo!
