Maybe it was during the first summer sandstorm. The sun was starting to get hot, but not unbearable. Some bathers were braving the dusty winds. The lifeguard was somewhere, just temporarily abandoning his tower. For a fleeting moment Jumeirah beach looks empty...but not for long.
