There are many ways to reach our Capital City Valletta. Either by car on the road or else by sea! And by sea there two ways, either by luxurious ferries, or by a rowing boat as in this case!

PP work: cropped to a square format and adapted HDR.

Franics,

Very nice compostion with the red ferry in contrast to the browns/tans of the buildings.

I see you have they same problem I discoverd in HDR. Otherwise invisible dust spots become very visible in HDR processing.

Great image.

LAB

very nice capture with excellent details and good pov
tfs regards bryan

Great shot Francis! I can smell the rain in the air. Lighting is perfect, color is beautiful, images sharp. Superb as always! TFS, Lori

Hi Francis,
I like the overall composition and the contrast between the boat and the old buildings. The treatment is something that I don't like, but it is a personal thing. You do have two very large spots in the top left corner. Better to scan your photo on spots and so before you post it.
TFS,
Niek

I like it! A race between machine and human power. Who won? Very cute capture. Great pov and it has a good dof with sharp details. Nice colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Francis,

This is a great cityscape. I liked your B/W one posted the other day but this one is even better. The composition is excellent and I love the contrasting tones of the bright red ferry with the soft muted tones of the buildings, sea and sky. The square format works very well and the fisherman adds the perfect finishing touch. The effect is like a grand painting!

Regards

Joy

I like this shot Francis Xavier.I like the colors of the modern ferry, against the colors of the Historic city of Valleta & how the modern shape of it, shows off the age & history of the old city. I like also the inclusion of the rower alongside the ferry, his inclusion adds to the vibrance of this composition,I guess he really has done this crossing many times, due to his rowing stance, not sure if I could direct a rowing boat while standing up. This in another of your images that is worth enlarging & hanging on your wall, but remember & remove those pesky dust spots before you print it:-)
TFS

Best Regards

Ron

dear Francis Xavier,
fore vivid modern boat and back beautiful old city are well layered and composed to make impressive picture,
little silhouette of tiny boat with standing and rowing man is, maybe most important in this view,
because he is only one person in this wonderful scene, and we seem to watch it through his eyes to me,
settled light and tasteful colors are nice,
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa

Hi Francis...excellent shot of this interesting place...nice tones and light....well done.

Hi Francis,

Wonderfull composition with the red ferry and the B/G, great HDR pcture.
I like the détails and the colors, perfect frame.
The POV and DOf are splendid, great job.
Best reagrds and have a good week.
John

This picture has fantastic atmosphere. The scene itself is telling with those two boats crossing. The span of time represented from the ferry all the way into history as shown by the gloriously detailed architecture has strong impact.I like the subdued colors too.Best wishes Otto.

Lovely shot with great contrast from the overcast sky to the white and red of the boat to the ancient stonework of Valetta - to say nothing of the different water craft :-)
Only criticism I would make is that thre are appear to be a couple of dust spots in the sky on the left hand side which is very uncharacteristic for you my friend :-)

Great shot
Regards
David

Good afternoon Francis

Optimising deep of field who let view all the details and increase the boat size and rower man. I like the contrasted colors.

Mario

This picture is alive, with the boat or without. The Architecture just blew me away.

Excellent compo and fantastic atmosphere. Very interesting and artistic.
