Summer Sunday Afternoon
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Inspired by an image posted on TL a couple of weeks ago by a member called bri, who posted a shot of a bay in the north of England in B/W, I decided to experiment with an image of my own. This was taken in colour of a very bright Sunday afternoon at Daymer Bay, north Cornwall. I was never happy with the original version and felt the colours were too saturated so decided to see how it would look in B/W with a bit more contrast. I am quite interested in how some ordinary everyday images seem to convey more mood and drama when converted to B/W.|
PP work - converted to B/W, contrast and levels altered, sharpened, resized and border added.

A nice B&W shot of this vast beach with perfect lighting. Good contrast! It looks like an HDR treated picture.
I like the movement in the scene with people enjoying their day!
Well done for this neat work.

A very nice picture this and one which I suspect is better in black & white than in colour. It has a nice nostalgic look to it and reminds me of picture postcards from the 1950's - what a shame there's not some chap in the picture with a knotted handkerchief on his head!
I still am an unconverted lover of B&W - not that there is anything wrong with colour. What a fabulous image with so much atmosphere!! Well done!!
I really like this shot presented in b&w. I think there is nice lighting with wonderful tones throughout. Feels like we are in another time period. Good composition and detail. So pretty. TFS, Lori
