[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When I awoke in my room the morning after the wedding, it was to the sound of pieces of wood being clapped together. It was still very early in the morning and I wondered who would be so rude? I raised the blinds and found the source on the chimney across the lane!! The sound was made by the storks clapping the beaks!
What wondrous sight to my unaccustomed Canadian eyes.

As with the previous images, please forgive the timestamp -- it is still set for the time back home outside of Toronto.

Tech: captured in raw, adjusted levels and saturation in raw, converted to jpg, resized to 798x530 pixels, deselected sky and chimney and sharpened the remainder
Added a single pixel black border

Thanks for looking and for your kind suggestions for improvement

Hi Silke,
A sharp capture of this stork with wide wings open. A nice stretch in the appropriate time!
A nice chimney top used as a nest for these domestic birds!
A wonderful daily life scene of the Alsace region of France.
My regards,

Francis Xavier

splendid natural colors. nice mood at family time.

Of course I love this for the subject matter alone, but Silke this is a wonderful shot. Great pov, lighting, sharpness, composition. Just wonderful. TFS, Lori

Very nice capture! It's more like an action shot with the wings spread out. Great dof with sharp details. Good colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Silke,

That's a nice catch, but doesn't look like a good place to build a nest. I have to wonder what smoked stork tastes like ;))

A nice, sharp image. Well-timed to take advantage of the spread wings on the one. This looks great against the blue skies above.

Warm regards,

Silke, What an amazing site! I can only imagine your thoughts upon seeing this!! Yes, my first reaction would be to grab my camera....

Very interesting. I was thinking this was in Alsace. Lisa
