[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After some location scouting during the day I came across the wonderful stretch of coast and I knew that when the evening light was right, a spot among the rocks facing the island of Austvågøy would be perfect. Nature didn't disappoint me that evening and some wonderful rays of gold and red light were illuminating the mountain range and ominous clouds.

I was standing on a rock in the ocean with the water level slowly getting higher. I had to keep watching my small escape route across the still accessible beach. Setting up my tripod was easy as the rock had some good flat areas. Of course I used my hotshoe spirit level to make sure that the horizon was running straight in my composition. A 0.9 grad ND filter was used to balance the exposure and a cable release was used to be sure no camera movement was captured.

A slightly different view can be found here.

Hi Niek
The rich colour from the low sun gives a lovely warm hue to a cold wet setting. The sense of a great wide open is enhanced by the cloud shape and the distant mountains.
Great shot.

Hi Niek,
A splendid wide angle shot of this marvelous beach adorned with fantastic sunset cast.
Beautiful cloud formation and such warm light of the FG rocks which are giving a great sense of depth into the perspective.
Very neat work with excellent light management.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

I love all the pastel colors here Niek! Nice wide angle shot, the clouds make the shot work well! My favorite time of the day, morning, or evening, when the light is coming in from the side! Wonderful shot!
