[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in June at the Pittsburgh Public Market, a farmer's market held every weekend in a large former warehouse. This young girl was "helping" her mother at a booth selling soup. She was wearing a pink "Bat Girl" t-shirt. When she saw my camera she begged me to take her photo. Her smile was so sweet and natural that I complied right away. The color version was nice but I decided on b&w in the end. I cropped, adjusted highlights, did some selective sharpening.

I am sorry to have been away for so long. It seems that the pattern for me these days is to post several shots and spend some time commenting on other's photos, but then I get distracted with work and family and have to put TL aside for weeks or months at time. I can't promise I'll be here every day as I used to do, but I'll try to be here more often. It is good to see your work again, friends!

Hi Sandy,
A lovely portrait of this happy girl. You can really see that you had a good connection with her when you made this photo. She is really relaxed. The quality of the photo is great, with a good shallow DOF and excellent clarity. The conversion to B&W was a great choise.

Dear Sandy,

A priceless smile, emotions directly from the heart, are so beautifully shown in this candid portrait of this cheerful girl!

The reflections in her eyes are amazing and light is very well handled.
The B/W treatment to the picture worked well here.
Great eye-to-eye contact!

Best regards,

Hi Sandy,
one can see how happy she was to get her photographic taken, her smile is so contagious,as is the happiness seen in her eyes.I like that the DOF has muted the background so well & that she is so vibrant in the foreground. You used the natural light well, very detailed & very clear image.

Hi Sandy,

What a happy photo, you chose a perfect eye-level POV for this, which is very important in child photography. Very sharp and the shallow DOF blurred the background well. B&W worked nicely, TFS.

Hi Sandy,

It's a lovely angel's smile! And you captured the expression of purity and joy of this lovely little angel very well!
Congratulations and thanks for sharing this adorable image.

Um grande abrašo,
