[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
This picture of my cousin has been taken in Burkina Faso when he was looking the children playing in the street. He has been surprised by the flash and accordingly I find that his face is very expressive.

I have cropped this shoot. In the original version the face was placed in the center and so the portrait was less expressive.

My own critical is pertaining to the light of the flash present in the lock of the door.

Do not hesitate to give me your comments.

this photo stood out to me because of the great framing of the boy. Lighting could be improved on the door but it is important that the details are seen. TFS Paul Cornish

What a great shot! This is framed and taken perfectly. The only thing I can think of to make this better is the focus. Overall I really like this one Bernard. Thanks for sharing,

Glen

l'expression de l'enfant est joli. cela aurait été sympa de mettre votre photo originale dans le workshop pour pouvoir comparer votre travail de retouche

Wow! It's a great shot Bernard. I love the way you've composed it by cropping it. The contrast of colours is good. B&W works perfectly for this shot. A little out of focus that's all. Good title. A good shot. TFS.

Ravi.

Excellent!!! Multi framing of this photo is great idea! I knew you must be good photographer when I saw your first post yesterday, and I think I'm not wrong.
The oil paint on the door is reflecting the flash too much, but that can be corrected in PP. Vertical lines helped your camera to focus the door and not the boy (that's how Olympus like to auto focus), and it's too bad he is a bit blurred. But, you can try to select just him and do the Luko's sharpening method or just Unsharp mask. Well, after all this talk, perhaps I should do some ws for you? :)
All in all, this is great! His expression is well captured, but the (re)composition of the photo is really good. You did a great job here, keep on posting! I'll have my eyes on you, :))

Regards
Robert

Beau portrait! Composition tres originale,Bernard! Le cropping est excellent! Belle creation! Bravo! Michel

Wonderful picture ! It would have probably been a bit better without the flash, but if you would it up and do technically everything the moment would be gone and your nephew would not have had the same expression on his face.

Looking forward to seeing more photos of you

Marleen

Hi Bernard, this is a very well seen picture, good idea at cropping the shot and leaving the face on the left. I saw Robert's workshop and improved more your shot. Anyway, your's is a winner! regards, Iris

Bonsoir Bernard,
belle capture... Cette photo me fait penser au triste passé colonial, surement dû à cet enfant derrière une porte avec un verrou... Je trouve cette photo très forte... Bravo!

wow !!!!super !!!!

Bravo Bernard!

Strong facial expression displayed by your cousin! I love the framing! The framing to me tells the story of a boy who is locked in a situation that he may find impossible to release himself. Free himself from what you may say, free himself from the bonds of poverty, lack of education and hope.

Excellent composition!
