What makes this photo stand out for me is the vignetting. The seed head reminds me of a hairy spider. The shallow depth of field works really well also.

Very good use of the vignette/gradients to the corners to draw the eye into your subject....never realised the section above the head of the poppy were 10, am intrigued with numbers in nature, Aquilegia, 5 for instance...
