[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Novice monks at Namkha Zong on the Nepal/Tibet border. A remote monastery several days walk from the nearest air strip. I spent a month trekking from Simikot in the North West of Nepal to Tibet, then completed the sacred pilgrimage around Mount Kailash before trekking up to advanced base camp on Everest. I may post a travelogue when I understand a bit better how this site works!

The light on their faces is from the strong sun on the left that was coming in through the side of the monastery.

One of the most beautiful portraits I ever seen... Great light...

wonderful, great comp, love those colours, good work, (*_*)

The light is gorgeous. I like the way you've chosen to show us an unglamourised portrait from Nepal, with these two wearing their everyday clothes. Good work, as always.

Excellent subjects, nicely composed. The light from the monastery added a special warmth to their faces. Thank you for sharing John..
Cheers,
Skye

Hey John,
That's a nice portrait. I like it a lot. The light is subtle and yet strong. Nice glow. Btw, what's the story behind the photo?...did you get them to pose for you against the wall? Or they just happened to be there when you walk by?

Thanks for sharing...great portrait really!
