Hope it wasnt too cold there today. It was 34c here. Excellent graphism of the dark clothes against the lighter bg. Bon travail!

what makes it for me is the light and the fact that all the clothing is black, which is so typically Southern European. thanx, (*_*)

Really the like the composition and particularly the way the rest of her washing has arms hanging down but just in front of her the view is clear. Excellent.

Well, I started to laugh even before I had scrolled down to see the whole scene. The ladies face peering over the wall is precious. The clothes on the washing line just adds that much more humour to an already cute scene. Very well observed Pierre, and the composition is just the sort of style I absolutely adore. Wish I had taken this shot. Going straight to my favs. Thanks, and well done.
wow! excellent contrast between the black clothes (a very strong colour) and the rest of the picture, very flat... it seems to me that the clothes are more alive than the old lady:) beautiful! and a special thing: this landscape is very Romanian-like:0

great :) nice compo and beautiful colours :)

Hello. Here is a well captured piece of southern italian life!
Clothes hanged under the sun...old white walls of old houses(maybe the "sassi" in this case)...and old people who look just in your eyes...
A great compo for a great shot!
Everything in this picture is so "southern Europe", Pierre... the late-evening sunrays, the soft hues on the buildings, the laundry drying in the street... and the electrical wires that are put up everywhere to annoy tourists (especially the ones carrying a camera LOL). You captured this atmosphere perfectly.
Just for fun I made a WS on Luc's picture of you and Suzanne ;o)

Great composition of the black cloths and the white/bright BG. But the star of the show is that lady:0)

What an interesting face, well-framed by the hanging clothes! Interesting the way the woman "lines up" with the shadow of the trousers below! And usually, I think of laundry on a clothesline as being light-colored (not sure why), so this is very different.

Bien vu mon cher prof. Tournesol :)

Pierre, Accept a huge of prizes from me! Really amazing and moody shot. How perfect you achived such POV. A wonderfull sreet shot! A golden hand you have!
A very nice everyday scene well spotted and caught. This time I would not propose a different cropping. On the contrary I find the overall composition extremely well balanced with plenty of exciting details entering or leaving the frame, but with the most imposrtant inside it. This is the kind of shot that might work well in black and white also.

I think it's best in color. The clothes are dark and provide a contrast already, and her face is framed so nicely by the shorter shirt. The diagonal lines keep me eye moving, but I'm irresistably drawn back to the little old lady.
If it were my shot, I'd feel SO pleased with myself. You should too.
Hi Pierre, great shot ! Love the black clothing. Also I love that you dared to take this picture, I would have gotten shy, not taken it and afterwards kicked myself for not taking it.

I tried to review what I missed in your gallery while I was gone and this one is what I like most. Your note say it all, "A Snapshot of Life". Beautiful and touching!

I like your gallery very much. I've picked this one to leave my comment. It's great! I think I should start a Theme "Laundry" one of this days, and yours would be on the first place.
TNX for your comment under my photo!

This is just, well it's brilliant.
It seems to (me) that it's one of those photos where there is that slight hesitation and then in the back of your mind you realize you've already decided to take it. And voila!
I'm probably wrong but whatever. :)
It's just so everyday and surprising yet familiar. I just love it. Well done!

You wonder just what is she thinking. Maybe she's got to an age she doesn't have to think about it, and wonders what all the fuss is about. She's seens a lifetime.
