My experience was to use M (manual), then used a who-cares aperture (usually f/5.6, f/8 or f/11), then looked for the right speed in the meter. When I got that, I found out that the right speed will give you over exposed moon, so then, I reduced the speed about 3 times less. You probably have to experiment on your camera. But it is fun to do it. United States
