Thank you, Bev, for your kind remarks yet again, even although you do sound a bit like Dick Emery!

As Peter says, I don't know how long the moderators will leave this picture here. Perhaps it will be removed, but I hope not. I put it on, not because I thought it was funny or amusing and not because it was of any great photographic merit, but because, as an avid reader of interesting notes, I thought it might be of interest to those who have not heard of some of the strange customs in these parts.

I really kick myself for having taken a batch of cheap poor-quality film with me on what was a trip of a lifetime. Oh, to have had my Canon DSLR with me then - I would have needed some sort of solar-powered charger for the battery, though!

I'm sure you should be able to find some monumental sculptor somewhere in Dumfriesshire who could carve you some nice statues for your future plans. Mind you, many sculptors require their subjects to pose pretty motionless for several hours at a time - might be difficult to keep it up for that long, if you know what I mean.

Kind Regards,

John.
