Fellow TrekEarth members, I'd like to welcome you all to TrekLens, the sister site of TrekEarth. The only difference between TE and TL (besides the color scheme), is that the terms of service will be more open here. This means it's ok to post pet, family, friend, studio, and more heavily post-processed images here.

To those not familiar with TrekEarth, that is a site for learning about the world through photography which has a rather strict terms of service. TrekLens will still be a place to learn more about the world through photography, but will also allow a greater variety of photos to be displayed, as explained above.

I look forward to the continued thoughtful participation of everyone!

Greetings, Adam. I only discovered TrekEarth and TrekLens last week while doing a Google search for galleries Minolta DiMAGE A1. TrekEarth was one of the first hits and I joined as soon as I saw the breadth of the site and the community spirit. I especially like how we may designate members and photos as favorites, and how we can receive e-mail notifications for various events. I visit daily now. Thank you so much for everything!

T U Adam for what you are managing, being with entire satisfaction on TE where I already shared for a very few weeks, just joined TL in addition and for motivation as you describe for this community. Nice people both side, sometime the same, good autodiscipline, (in french) et des rapports très enrichissants dans la connaissance du monde à travers les publications et les échanges culturels et techniques.

I think the TrekLens and TrekNature menus should also have links to related sites as TrekEarth lists links to TrekLens and TrekNature.
Also I believe it would be really helpful for keeping these 3 different communities focused (especially TrekEarth), if they were more easily linked from the user's point of view.
Choosing the "link accounts" option in personal profile could link the accounts visibly also for visitors, as this is what most of the users want. Now they have to create a links in their notes.
Also it would be useful if one could transfer personal information and equipment profile directly to linked accounts.

Sorry I am just now saying thank you for this wonderful site. Being retired it gives me a way to show off my hobby, learn from others critiques, & comments, & learn from just observing others photos. It is also a great way to view the beauty that is out there in this world. Thanks Donald

I'm just now getting to everything after learning the site well. Thanks for providing this commercial-free area for photos! Believe me, it's refreshing and calming to be here and I learn more each day. I also like the non-porn TOS, that's great, too.
