|Lens selection ||PhilippeC (105)||::||2016-04-29 20:00|
|I just recently bout a Nikon D60 (yes I know its a older model but as a starter into the DSLR world it was a great deal! Eventually I will upgrade to a newer model but it will be one that uses the same AF-S Lenses as the D60. I Currently have the 18-55mm AF--s VR lens for it but I am looking at a lens with a bit more zoom capability, I was thinking of the 18-140mm or the 55-200 or 300mm which I will get the two eventually but what would be my best choice to get first, the 18-140mm or the 55-200/300mm? I want to have a lense that compliments the ones that I have as I tend to find myself taking long range shots and when I want to capture wildlife they always seem to run when I get close enough for the shot!

|Hi, There are reviews for every lens of note on the internet. Just Google them. I use the Nikon D800 with an AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm zoom lens which are a real good combination but 300mm is not that long. Many bridge cameras these days offer ultra zoom capability with 14Mp and up to 20Mp resolution. Consider that 10 years ago 12Mp was professional standard. My little 14Mp Canon Powershot SX30IS effectively has optical zoom capability up to 840mm and the quality is marvellous. The bridge cameras are relatively cheap.
