Hi Carlo, You're about to get crucified by the TOS squad here, good luck....

Your pretty late with this one little buddy, this thread happened almost a full year ago.
What made you pick this thread to comment on?
I think you have a vendetta against someone....this is the first interaction I have had with you and by reading your threads and discussions, I think your crappy (and spamming) attitude just draws people to dislike you.
I guess you feel happy writing to someone a YEAR later....LOL
Idiot.
Perhaps you have mistaken.. ScottHale Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor [C: 633 W: 106 N: 38] (136)::2008-12-31 19:12
Your intro "sarcastically" reads:
There seem to be quite a few people here that like critiquing photos, some of them seem to spend most of their day here doing it, so there's no shortage of mentors... I leave it to them to do what they enjoy. If you have a specific question that isn't answered by anyone else though, please feel free to ask for my help. Kevin Whitcomb | eyesofman.org

My problem with your attitude is that it appears that you think people who spend most of their day critiquing photos shouldn't be critiquing photos. TrekLens is built on learning and teaching photography through feedback from critiques. You say you have taught at the college level. I have a difficult time believing that you were able to hold a job with that mentality. You are a very, very, very small fish in a very large ocean on knowledge. To think others don't have a right to give advice or offer help (no matter how much time they spend doing it) is pretty absurd and downright idiotic of you.

You certainly have not shown me any great talents in your photographs and your actions seem almost hostile...tell me, why do you choose a website like TrekLens to dump your photos on?

Hey Peaches
I commented on the post because it was near the top of the list of discussions and the title caught my eye... especially given the beating I've received about having my website linked to my profile but you know all about that.

I've read my profile intro several times and had a friend read it and there's no sarcasm in it at all, you must be feeling guilty about something you read in it... Maybe you should consider counseling? I'm not quite sure how you get from my intro that I look down on people who critique, there's no language in the intro at all like that. I guess you're trying to put a spin on it or maybe reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

I do have to applaud you on your post though, you managed to combine multiple attacks into one message. I admire your economy of words...

Lets see... to summarize, in your opinion:
My photography is bad
I'm mentally incapable of holding a job
My knowledge of photography is small
No body here likes me
I'm an "idiot"
I'm hostile
I have a bad attitude

Is that about it?
I never realized I had so many flaws, thank you for pointing them out.

I'm stunned that I've been able to shoot high end advertising shots for national clients for all these years, Jeeze I hope they don't figure out I have no talent!

It's ironic you sent me the post today though. Another TL member said you must be on vacation and that's why you haven't joined in with your friends in slamming me. She said I'd hear from you eventually though and was right! Again in a twist of irony you say people don't like me here but I've received many emails of support because of all the BS from the "core group" (as one person put it) of hostile people here and your name was brought up by several as someone who should be banned for being hateful. How does that make you feel?

I choose to put images here because I like the concept of the site, I really love some of the photography here and my images have received good exposure. Last time I looked they'd been viewed almost 900 times. If you have any more questions for me please feel free to ask though.

Your highness-grand poo-bah,

2008-02-17 14:57

And it was at the top of the discussion list?

hahaha....you think I don't understand how this site works? (check how long I've been here fella)

I just point out how it seems like someone crapped in your pants, and because you are a pro (or claim to be an expert) that the "better than thou attitude" doesn't fit here on TL. We are here to learn and you spend your time saying crap like, some people here spend all day writing critiques and if that's what they are happy doing I will leave it up to them to be the mentor. I found that arrogant as hell and pretty stupid of you. That doesn't sound like someone that possess the knowledge of an educator you claim to be. it sounds like you are trying to belittle people for trying to help others.

Now, as for another TL mentioning me....good!
I am glad that I can be in your conversations when I am not online. I hope I have left my mark and helped you in some way brother. I also don't know if you understand that your statement about receiving emails of support is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Freddie and Lukie have been pretending to receive emails of support for their crap starting for many years now. You really think I believe you found someone to support your bologna?

I really am pleased that you answered my question, thanks. I don't really have any other questions for you, if I can think of one or two, you can bet, I'll serve them up to you.

Funny thing, Scott - his images have received so many views but so little positive commentary.

They only receive those views because they are advertised in the forums. People look, see nothing worth commenting on, then look away.

The original post uses the forum for a blatant self-promotion.
But I've read Kevin's intro and see nothing sarcastic in it, nothing to warrant a diatribe against him.

Did you also see the several forum threads he initiated, before the mods deleted them?
Re: Over-reaction macondo Silver Star Critiquer/Silver Note Writer [C: 15 W: 0 N: 38] (142)::2009-01-06 16:40
No, but I'm really only interested in the words of his intro, not some continuing feud. I take it by your question that you agree with me.

Take from it whatever you want, I really don't care.

Andy,
You sure he hasn't changed it.
Are you willing to stand by your words?
You've read his intro "now".
Are you really so naive to think it's not changeable, even after several people have complained of his arrogance.
That's just ONE of the reason why critiques can't be changed.
To keep people from baiting and switching and making people like you look foolish.
Not a difficult feat though....eh?
Re: Over-reaction macondo Silver Star Critiquer/Silver Note Writer [C: 15 W: 0 N: 38] (142)::2009-01-07 17:30
Well, the only thing I take exception to in his intro ('now', if you must have it that way) is his misrepresentation of the purpose of TL, which is actually the reverse of the way he puts it ( "The underlying theme of TrekLens is learning more about the world through photography."), which is the TE motto.
I can't see any connection between changing your intro and changing a critique; it's not a parliamentary debate, Scottie.
Re: Over-reaction ScottHale Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor [C: 633 W: 106 N: 38] (136)::2009-01-07 18:16
Andie,

Thanks for telling me what you take exception to, you opinion means so much to me...lol

True, the motto of TL is

"Learning about photography through our world."

You there on TrekEarth must be interested in learning about the world through photography.....

We here on TrekLens want to learn about photography and would like it to use the world to do it.

I wonder how you "wandered" over here on TL....you haven't learned enough yet?

How's your "Belgian boy"...? :)

Everybody read what they want to hear...
As anybody read the Mission of this site...which says...does anybody know what the word Mission means?

Mission
TrekLens is dedicated to fostering a global community interested in displaying and critiquing photos in a friendly environment.

Denis, I'm almost certain that would apply to displaying photos on Treklens rather than promoting other sites.
