It was a pretty stunning evening so the eye saw something fairly close to this. This post is very close to what came from my Nikon D80. The rich colors are in part the result of my camera settings. I use something nikon calls More Vivid, which saturates colors more than normal. Secondly, I also had the WB set to Cloudy which also tends to render richer sunset colors. I ran the image through my normal CS2 edit, but very little was modified in that process. I may post a fireworks shot too at some pont taken from the exact same location about 30 minutes later than this one. It was one spectacular night but the 12 km drive home from Harrison Hot Springs took about 2 hours due to incredible traffic volumes. If you've ever been in Harrison, you will know that to get south, there's only one narrow two land road so you can see the challenge when thousands of people descend on the small village.
