[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
David Warren of Fast Lane Performance installs a custom exhaust on a pickup truck in his shop, where he enjoys a reputation of excellence in his field. When he fabricates custom parts for race cars, he is considered an artist. When I expressed an interest in photographing the process, I was invited past the "Absolutely No Admittance--This Means You" sign, into the inner sanctum. I moved in under the truck (!), and proceeded to snap while showers of sparks rained down upon me. I was warned not to look directly at the light.

PP work--I didn't do any cropping, but saturated the colors just a bit; framed and resized for TL.

This is one of those photos that "career" companies would want to buy.
It's well lit, nicely coloured and very clear.

Wow, we could start a Superhero Theme!
I like this shot, it has some great detail with the sparks and the screwjack. The colors are nice and the composition works well here.
Very well done. What do you think about our theme?

hi Karen. i like the angle, excellent colors and sharpness. nice one on the sparks! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Karen. I love your well writtennote which transaltes well your respectuous approach. To me this is america at her best with competent people working hard and with precision while putting a little patriotic touch and a bit of fantasy in their work . The sparks are just perfect especially the one top right. I hope this is not a fading breed TFS

This is a nice action shot of a welder at work, I like the spark effect, good one! Thanks for sharing.

I like the composition of this photo.
Something outside the common thing, within the common thing. Not obvious but the small detail. Congratulations.

Hello Karen,
Superb details and realy picture. Good composition and good action scenery.
Well done.

Very cool shot Karen. I have often thought about trying to capture a welder at work for all the sparks and bright light. My son is a welder so I should seriously look into trying this. Great details here Karen along with exposure. This is great!

Hi Karen , I decided on a trip back through your gallery and stumbled upon this, a most unladylike subject :). Very well captured, nicely composed good colour and the sparks well frozen. TFS,

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Lace Cap’, I had not seen them before either Karen, there are three different colours growing in the bed along with other varieties I have not seen anywhere else in Australia.
