Hi friends,

There are many kinds of red arowanas such as the BLOOD, CHILI, PURPLE RED, the 1.5 grade etc. This is due to the recent technology in arowana breeding that is why there are many different tones of red arowanas available today than let us say, 10 years ago. The chinese believe that the red arowana is the reincarnation of the dragon so that is why many chinese establishments keep a red arowana as a sign of prosperity.

Thanks for viewing!

Hello Jusni,
What a colorful fish seen out of water. Hence, the "waterdragon" may be fitting for this beauty! Since we do not have this type of fish here in the states, is it a delicious fish, and is that the reason the Chinese also keep one in custody at all times?
Great post with the colors and scales showing perfectly...

What a face! Looks alive. Very original. Now I know what a fish means when I see one in paintings. Impressive. Fantastic colors. TFS

nice detail...

like the color and sharpness.

a very expensive fish too.. i seen big one bro Jusni.. tapi tak berani ambil pic because belong to this wealthy chinese man.. hehe.. he believe capturing the fish will bring bad luck.. :D

anyway cantik shot bro ne.. terang, sharp dan halus.. good one..

regards, terry

Wow - stunning shot! Great detail and textures, great light and background. It's also very unusual to see a fish presented in such a way, in a macro shot - so kudos too for originality!

hi Jusni

I pity the fish swimming in the small aquarium and keeps turning back and forth, but I must say this fish is very special due to its reflective and colorful scale; the body is soft and allows it to move around very gracefully. That is one of the reason this fish's movement is a pleasure to watch. You have caught a nice macro close up view of the fish, sharp and good color tone. Excellent work.

tfs, bill

Salam Jusni,
this shot may cost a few thousands RM. This fish is really expensive and you depicted it very well. lovely composition with details well seen and dark background enhance the golden colours of the lovely scales.

Ciao Jusni

Beautiful capture of this fish!
I adore the colors and details in your body,
of rich colors and of a mixer of details
between the colors and scales.
Your Bg in black still defines more whole beauty
of this head.
like the color and sharpness.
Greetings my friend...

Hi Jusni,
Fascinating myth. It does look a bit feirce like a dragon looming out of the dark. I like how the flash has only lit up part of it, makes its more effective.

hello Jusni,
I love the iridescent quality and colour of the scales.
Wonderful colours, details and textures.
Have a good weekend,

Hi MF, a great capture of this fish from lateral pov with great clarity and wonderful black BG!
TFS and cheers,
