|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|November 11 is the 315th day of the year (316th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 50 days remaining until the end of the year.|
World War I is commemorated on this day, commonly known as Remembrance Day. The ceasefire went into effect at 11:00am CET in 1918, the date of which (and sometimes the commemoration of) is known as Armistice Day.

Depending on where it is celebrated, the day is alternatively known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, Poppy Day or Veterans Day.

Taken yesterday at the Otis Air Force Base Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts...
As you can see yesterday was a windless and cloudy day... not the best for taking photos. Odd enough today we have a nice stiff wind.. that would have had the flags nicely blowing in the wind..
I wanted to make this BW or to look older in edit but every attempt failed......
I have been messing with this photo for a few hours..
if its a little dark feel free to advise or better yet a workshop as always is greatly appreciated!!!

Great note! I'm usually a little long winded, but today my note was short. My photo was my dad's flag. He died two months ago. He was a very proud Marine.
You have posted a wonderful tribute, and added a great note. Somehow, I think the lack of wind tells a story, like a flag flown at half mass. I like the color! Great POV! I must travel east for pleasure some day.

A nicely composed shot and the quiet flags add a somber tone to it. B&W may work, but I think I like this in color better.
I was reading a book to the kindergarten class today on Veteran's Day. I glanced up at the clock and it was 11:00 am. I thought that was kind of neat.
I don't think the photo is dark at all. As a matter of fact, it gives it a "moodier" feel to me. Great contrast of the red and white against the trees. Lisa
I like the way the road just leads you off into whatever you want to think about the flags. I have a feel of sadness here, of loss of life, down a long road. Nice shot Tricia, I'm glad you are getting out and taking shots...***sniff sniff**...not happy that I'm not there! haha!....someday soon again!
