Hello friends in TL,

The Blue Pansy is one of the four Pansies found in Malaysia. The male is the prettier of the two sexes, where the hindwing is a bright blue with an orange-red subtornal ocellus. The female is a sombre brown on the upperside. The undersides of both sexes are a pale brown, with the usual markings and ocelli of the Nymphalinae.

The butterfly is a sun-loving species, which can usually be found on grassy patches in open areas. The species is related to the Buckeye (Junonia coenia) found in the United States of America.

Males can sometimes be found in numbers, frolicking in the bright sunshine. They can fly quite rapidly and occasionally engage in a spiral dance going up some height from the ground.

The Blue Pansy is not as common as it used to be, and is usually found in areas where there is open grassland.

Thanks for viewing.

Hi jusni.
A beautiful composition for this lovely blue pansy which you placed her beautifully in the frame and the bokeh with contrast colors seems so beautiful,Nikon D40 is very good cam..by the way what lens did yu use for this pic?
My Best Regards.

I don't know if it is my eye playing trick or what but i see three wings and only one set of legs , anyway you have achieved good sharpness right on the body and eye , i also like to see it evolving in its immediate environment as here , the light is abundant if i may say , another fine capture from you Jusni ,
Thanks,
Carol

Bonjour Jusni,

Superbe cliché de ce joli papillon aux couleurs fabuleuses et aux détails somptueux!!!
Un régal pour les yeux!!!
Amitiés
Odile

Hi Jusni,

This is a nice capture but I feel that it lacks certain details, especially the one among eyes, antennae and the wings but overall the work is pleasant to enjoy!

The color contrast between the blurry BG and the butterfly is nice. A little OE has been observed on the violet flowers but it is not a major issue in this case.

Hope you are doing well.

Greetings,
Paras
