[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken during a Deep River Grinders' baseball game. During the summer months we are fortunate to be able to pack a picnic lunch, bring our chairs (and cameras) and watch baseball at Deep River Park in Hobart, Indiana. The game is played according to the original 33 rules of baseball, adopted in 1858. Uniforms are authentic and each baseball is handmade.

This is a traveling league and they play teams from surrounding states. The man sitting on the stool is the umpire. Sometimes he will be dressed in an old-fashioned suit, wearing a top hat, and smoking a cigar. Really a fun time.
