Excellent idea to have your spouse in the shot, which without a doubt gives the sense of scale and enormity of the gorge.
Great entry to the theme.

You chose a very good time of the day to catch this one with the light positioned the way it bounces across the rockface. The backdrop of full light and the person walking away is perfect. I like the moodiness of this one, perfect for the theme today and perfect to be framed and hung, tfs

A very nice shot well balanced between lights and shadows; good pov to have the whole shape of each earth block; your wife give scale but also life

I remember well the incredible tide and fantastic rock formations of Hopewell Rocks...
great capture. impressive boulders in result of massive erosion.
wise inclusion of your spouse in the picture for scale and size.
Very good one for the theme Carol! Having G in there for a sense of scale is fantastic ... you really get a feel for the size of these cliffs. Nicely composed shot.
I had you had a great vacation out there. How is everything else in your life these days? Hoping all is well. We are doing good out here too.:)

Hello Carol,a great PoV which makes us really appreciate the scale of the rocks, and side by side with your informative notes I can sense the dangers too.
Your spouse is a very important part of the picture, giving not only scale but also a focal point.I like the inclusion of the trees on the top of the cliff.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Carol,I would assume one would need to know their waters very well, before taking any craft out for a trip. You certainly arrived at the correct time to capture this image, your angle & the inclusion of your wife, gives the viewer a good feel for the power & size of these tidal waters.Good informative notes, appreciated.

A wonderful contribution to Friday's theme, Carol!
I like the note you attached with this masterpiece.
The choice of POV is excellent and the DOF you managed to achieve is praiseworthy as well.
the blue of the sky is superb and it provides immense contrast to these boulders.
Great light and exposure control, and presence of your wife gives a nice sense of scale in the picture.
Have a nice weekend.
Thanks and regards,

Wow! Awesome contribution to Friday's theme! I thought about visiting this place when I live in New Haven, CT but never got around to it. Those boulders are huge! I like the lighting and it has good dof with nice details even the shadows. Very well done, tfs.

What a dramatic image Carol, dramatic scale, and dramatioc lighting.
You wouldn't want to be caught napping when the tide is coming in.
I think you have handled a dificult lighting situation very well.
