Yesterday was a sharp blast of winter ... -23C in the morning. But the sun was shining brightly, which is really the feature that makes our winters bearable. We get more hours of sunshine in the winter, than almost anywhere else in the country.

The sun was hitting this plant pot through the window, and I liked the sharp contrasts of the shadows.

Hi Trudy.

Your creative eye spotted this one, I do like the shadow lines across this pot....and the wisps of reedy grasses as they fall from this Dracenia...posibly tfs

stv ;o))

Ciao Trudy, fascinating composition with lovely alternating light and shadows, excellent clarity and splendid colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

My type of photo. Something just a little different.

I really like the shapes of the shadows and the contrast between dark and light. The muted colours of the vase work really well plus the texture of it is evident. You have also thought about the type of frame to use . Well done.

You have transformed a general setup into such a neat piece of art, Trudy!
Great going!!

Well captured play between light and shadows, as well as amazing contrasts within the image.
The DOF is excellent and exposure is brilliant.
Very well done!

Kind regards,
Paras

Hi Trudy,
Beautiful play with light and shadows. You created a piece of art with such a common subject, not usually noticed by everybody! Nice framework to compliment.
Thanks for sharing.
My best regards.

Bonjour Trudy,

You revealed some texture from this simple plant, by playing with the shadows, and the result is so eye-cacthing. I do like this minimalist composition.
I wondered what it would give without colors -although they are so useful here- so I tried a B/W version, and by chance, became mad with the gamma levels and saturation, when finally added more sharpness new textures appeared for my surprise...
I hope you wil not mind this bad, out-of-his-mind WS, I just thought it was fun. And not much left to match with the original...
Your version is really appealing.
