Using Liquify Filter: Retouching an image
Problem: My client likes her image but she does not like the double chin and wants that to be ‘fixed'.Please go to Workshop to compare. She wants this 'fix' in proportions to the rest of her face.
Using Liquefy Filter Tool:
When you open an image via this filter, you can push, pull, reflect, pucker, and bloat any area of an image.
Basics of using this filter:
Open an image and work on it without resizing.
In File Menu select: Filters/Liquefy and open.
In the dialog box Select Forward Warp Toll on the left side tool bar.
Immediately you will see a circle with a ( + ) plus sign.
On the right side of the pallet under Tool Option –
Customize Brush size, brush density, and brush pressure.
Take the curser to the image and push, or pull in the direction that you want to fix on the image.
When satisfied, click on to open the corrected in Photoshop.
That exactly what I did in this image to fix her chin area. I also applied custom vignetting here as shown here. Please see the workshop to see the original image.
Note: This only a demo to present the tip about Liquefy Filter.
Thank you for viewing and sending words of encouragements. David

Super portrait, colour, tones, clarity, all spot on.
Wow I know lots of ladies who want to know how to do that David!! Can you do it on a person???? If you could, you'd have us all lining up at your door to 'fix' us...
I'm gonna practice on one of my photos soon!!

Hello David!

Another fine, informative post and Workshop. Well here I must admit , You did cheat a bit (^_^). She lost a few kilos just looking at her new look.

The result image is well composed and truly nice. Technic is well applied. However, it is just an illusion (^_^). When she will look in her mirror , she will still have her double chin....

Keep on the great work !
Robert

WOW!
Really you did an excellent job here, David.!
The result is perfect.!
Your explanation is very usefull to others. You sure knows how to work with Photoshop, but which version is it ?
I do have PSP 9, but sofar, not used, as I do most simple things with Picasa and since shorty, frame, clone and resize it in Photofiltre.
Thanks for all your information.
Jan

Very good David, I like the tone & vignetting! But now your client may be jealous of this girl! Good workshop too. TFS & thanks for commenting on my photos. :} Don

Great work during PP. She looks so beautiful as a result and much thinner! Thank for the tips. I should try them sometime.
