Something you MUST try if you travel in Wallis : the "croûte au fromage" said "Toasted cheese" ?? not sure if the translation sounds good... it is a slice of bread (sometimes slightly moistened with white wine), roasted with the furnace with Walliser cheese,and, according to your feeling with ham, an egg, onions... accompanied by gherkins, and sometimes by a small tomato slice... To eat accompanied with a glass of white wine, like "Fendant"...
Sounds good? ....hum... forget your diet for a moment! ;-)

A essayer absolument si vous visiter le Valais : la croûte au fromage : tranche de pain (parfois légèrement humectée de vin blanc), grillée au four avec du fromage à raclette valaisan, agrémentée selon votre goût avec du jambon, un oeuf, des oignons... accompagnée de cornichons, et parfois d'une petite tranche de tomate... A déguster accompagné d'une verre de vin blanc, comme un Fendant.
Ca vous inspire?... hum........ oubliez votre régime pour un moment... ;-)
