Hi Karen,
Everything looks very well composed within this shot, the part where the cars have been provides good separation between the predominance of green and blue tones. Great DOF from f/16 too, I like this. I would go crazy with HDRs at this place, haha.

TFS,
Scott.

Absolutely beautiful old architectur, this view is fantastic.
Also, the mood in your image, the colors, it's great work.
Best regards.

Hi Karen
One dead house and one dead tree. A good combination. I wonder if it might benefit from a panoramic style crop. Some off both the top and bottom. Anyway, it is nicely exposed to show the textures of the old wood.

Yes Karen , just like me you like old buildings and it's ok , he he , particularly those abandoned ones even more so in my case , austere it looks , the gritty patches that serve as the driveway take the eye to the fence, house and beyond purposefully and add some depth to the scene , great compo , perhaps a more panoramic view could work well too as suggested by Phil ,
You hurt your back i read , well i know you'll be bouncing back soon , mine has been been hurting too but it's much better now , get back in shape ,

Carol

Hi Karan,
And so do I. I love the old farms and towns that you can find in the USA and Canada. It's something hard to find in crowded Europe.
The placement of the house is a bit too much in the horizontal center. With the empty lawn in front you can easely crop part of it away. I do like how you placed the house and dead tree on oposite side of the composition.

Hi Karen,
Nicely exposed old yard from a good POV with good placement of the cottage. Clear and sharp photo with high saturation, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hi Karen,
After having excelled with children's portrait, you are doing to repeat the achievement with landscapes!
This is a fine image of the Prairies. Great spaces where a fence is necessary for separating the sky and the horizon ! Beautiful composition and rendering of bright Summer colors. I especially like the rusty tones of the old shed. Bravo! Annie

Hi Karen...nicely composed shot..great details...nice job.

Hi Karen,
Your old farm buildings have so much character, this shows the textures of the weathered wood and shingle roof well.
It appears to be a little over sharpened, judging by the white halo around the tree horizon and building.
For what it's worth, I use only .5 of a pixel @ 60-80% in USM, after sizing down for TL.
Worth a try,
Pete.

Hi Karen,
Excellent point of view and well presented this old house , great naturel colors and old architecture,
Excellent done and I like it.

Hi Karen,
I havn't visited your galery for quite a while now, for numerous reasons, including lack of free time that I can spend on Treklens, and many days, sometimes, i'm just too tired, to give what a call a worthy review.

I've noticed that your photographic skills, haven't cease to improve. That's a good thing, don't you think. You do show a lot of care in your posting, just want to let you know, that I've noticed...))))))

I like this particular shot. It's well composed, the subject is interesting too. I really like the color, which are well balance, and saturated. Good contrast,(good black and well control highlights) Bang on exposure time.

Thanks for sharing, and keep on shooting. Cheers.

Sign "Utopia"...)))) Seem it the last crave on treklens, to create personnal "slogan".....

lovely shot, Karen.. i wonder if this old building is abandoned? probably it will look dramatically if you took at early evening.. that is just my opinion.. i think the small wild flowers on the left are lovely as well.. i hope you did not forget to capture it.. anyway overoll its a beautiful work.. nice work..

regards, terry
